Furnace repair tip for the winter.

When ahome heaterbegins to fail many homeowners debate whether to pay for furnace repair or to buy an upgraded system. There are both benefits and drawbacks to each choice. In some circumstancesrepairingthe system will be more affordable. However a small percentage of people will find that the cost of repair is close to that of a new furnace.

The cost of the repairs is likely to be the biggest factor when it comes to deciding between repairing the furnace or replacing it. If the price is only for a small amount of money most people will go ahead with the repair.

Winter ready

As winter approaches and the outdoor temperature drops, energy consumption is on the rise. Homeowners can implement these five tips to help reduce their home’s energy use and costs, yet maintain a warm and comfortable indoor environment, this winter.
Even though we may be hoping for a milder winter this year, it’s smarter to prepare for the worst. We can’t control Mother Nature, and we can’t control the upward pressure on fuel prices unfortunately, we still import about 60% of the oil we consume.

The oven:

The cleaner yourovenis, the more efficiently it will burn gas or electricity. Don't allow heavy grease buildup on the interior. If you have not used the self clean feature yet, don't,  It's too late.  Self-cleaning cycles cause the oven to run at extremely high temperatures. The self clean feature on today's ovens will expose any weak spots in your oven.

A qualityair conditioningunit is a necessity when in you live in El Paso. The average high daily temperature can hover above 110 degrees from June through September.  Don't make your family, friends and pets sweat it out, keep your air conditioner in good repair throughout the year to make sure you have access to cool air during the fiery temperatures.

Turn on the Heater and shut down the A/C. Its time.

As the holidays approach and the Turkeys find their way into ourovens, they bring with them the cold air that causes most families to turn on their heaters. As the weather cools down and heaters turn on, carbon monoxide becomes a greater threat. Without proper prevention the tasteless, colorless and odorless gas could possibly kill.
The Center for Disease Control said on average, carbon monoxide kills more people in the United States than any other poison. The gas has proven deadly to El Pasoans every year.
