AC installation and replacement projects in El Paso Texas
Ductwork is one of the biggest costs associated with AC installation in El Paso and replacement. Depending on the home, families may expect to pay $1,000 or more for the tubes alone. Installation may tack another several thousand dollars on to the project and we haven’t even gotten to the cost of air conditioner replacement yet! Thankfully, ductwork expenditures and high interest loans don’t have to be part of the financial equation. Our AC installation customers may opt to choose split system air conditioners instead. Split systems come in a variety of forms, even those that don’t require miles of tubing to operate cost effectively.
Installing split system air conditioners in El Paso is easy primarily because of their inherent design characteristics. They’re compact, lightweight and quiet. As such, they can generally be installed at ground level, on the wall or mounted on a wide variety of roof types without causing logistical nightmares. Plus, they’re less likely to rouse the ire of homeowner’s associations and noise-sensitive neighbors or loved ones. And for families who love to be in control, the ability to effortlessly adjust temperatures from nearby or remote locations makes split system air conditioner installation all the more appealing.
Our AC installation techs are familiar with many brands of residential split systems. As such, we’re available to help families wade through the multitude of split cooling options available to today’s homeowners. For example, they may recommend that some customers install systems that boast air purifying filters, chlorine-free refrigerant, hurricane wind resistant brackets and built-in dryers or diagnostic alerts. To find out which features they’d suggest that customers insist upon having in any one of our services areas, just ask.
Although ductwork doesn’t have to be a part of the bill, split system AC installation and replacement isn’t without cost. On the plus side, existing finance options make handling costs as easy as setting a cooling system’s thermostat. Central A/C Repair after Buying a Home.
Congratulations on your new home! You probably want it to stay nice and clean for as long as possible. And you certainly don’t want your AC breaking down any time soon. Follow these tips to bring your system up to tip-top shape.
No. 1: Combatting Bacteria in the Air Handling Unit
The air handler is the part of the AC system that takes in stale air from the house, and blows it back as cold air. It has two main components: a freezing cold metal coil, and a fan that blows the air across the coil and throughout the house. Warm air passes through this coil and becomes super-cooled, leaving drops of water behind, essentially dehumidifying and cooling the home. Water is caught and builds up underneath the coil in a plastic pan, which drains to the outside via PVC pipes.
Unfortunately, this process makes the inside of the air handler a very cold, dark, and humid place with standing water and a constant supply of recycled air. When air in the home passes into this dark, wet place, airborne bacteria tend to cling onto the coil and blower blades. The bacteria grow and grow, often resulting in clumps which slow down the blower motor, and eventually impede air flow as they build up on the coil.
Speak to a central AC repair expert for options on cleaning and/or killing these bacteria.
No. 2: Have a Technician Check and Clean Internal Parts
Oftentimes, when someone sells their home, they neglect to have the air conditioning system checked out. Internal parts may be worn, burnt, or even broken after you purchase the home. And it usually doesn’t come with a warranty. So have an expert help to get your machine back into tip-top shape before something happens.
Along with checking the system, a service technician will also usually apply a cleaning solution to both the indoor and outdoor units. This helps to ensure that air flows properly throughout the system. He or she may also oil the motors within the system as well so that everything works correctly.
Our experts at SoBellas Home Services will gladly assist you in fixing up the air conditioning system for your new home.
